The press office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that one person was killed in the crash of a “Ka-32” helicopter belonging to the ministry, in the Russian province of Kaliningrad, west of the country.
The ministry told the Russian “TASS” agency, that there were 3 people on board the helicopter, one of whom survived the accident without needing medical assistance, and he was the crew commander, and the second was taken to hospital, while the third was killed.
More than 50 people and more than 10 vehicles are working at the site of the helicopter crash, where a special operations headquarters for the accident was established and a committee was formed to investigate the causes of the helicopter crash.
It is noteworthy that the “Ka-32” multi-function helicopters are intended for relief work, extinguishing fires, evacuating casualties from disaster areas and transporting payloads weighing up to 5 tons.
