France‘s very popular diver Jules Bouyer was back in action today but it was not just his diving that was catching the attention of fans.
The 22-year-old home favourite was going for gold in the final of the men’s individual 3m springboard at the Olympics in Paris.
But despite missing out on a medal, the diver took Olympics’ fans by storm once again due to his pair of tightly-fitted speedos.
Bouyer came eighth with a score of 395.70, finishing behind China‘s Siyi Xie and Zongyuan Wang who took gold and silver and Mexico‘s Osmar Olvera Ibarra who nabbed bronze.
Last Friday, he also appeared in the men’s synchronised 3m springboard final alongside his teammate Alexis Jandard, where the pair finished in fifth place.
Bouyer from Annecy in south-eastern France was instantly dubbed a heartthrob last week when a picture of him in his particularly tight swimming trunks went viral on social media.

The photo of him showering poolside prompted fans to go wild with one commenting it was the ‘only reason I love the Olympics’.
Another added: ‘I just really hope his speedo is getting paid time and a half.’
A third fan wrote: ‘He fills out a speedo very well.’
‘Those Speedo’s are working overtime at this point,’ quipped a fourth.
Another satisfied fan simply wrote that the Frenchman was ‘perfect’.
The result today, however, marks a frustrating end to what has been a whirlwind Olympics for Bouyer, whose new legion of fans were left devastated at his failure to win a medal in Paris.
One wrote: ‘wait I’m sad now who am I supposed to root for in the Olympics now that Jules Bouyer is done’.
Another put: ‘Jules Bouyer you’ll always be beloved by me’.
While one simply commented: ‘JULES BOUYER! that’s the tweet’.
Following the online craze last week, underwear company Shinesty has reportedly offered to keep the 22-year-old’s famous bulge protected for life.
According to TMZ Sport, officials at Shinesty – who are famous for offering ‘Ball Hammock Pouch Underwear’ designed to provide extra support for male genitals – are ready to hand Bouyer a lifetime supply of their undies.
‘When we saw what Olympic diver Jules Bouyer was packing in his South of France, it didn’t matter that we were an American company,’ a rep for the company was quoted as saying.
‘We wanted to give it a gold medal and protect that front truck of his for many Olympics to come.’

Shinesty is said to have already reached out to Bouyer’s family and Olympic authorities to begin talks over a potential deal with the diving star.
Bouyer started diving at the age of six and joined the senior French team’s training camp back in 2020.
He won both the Junior European and Junior World champion titles in 2021 before qualifying for an Olympics spot on home soil in Paris.
