If what it is about is to achieve the use of AIFA against the grain, at all costs, why not consult López Portillo’s recommendation through the ouija…
In solidarity with Ciro…
Air transport users have not wanted to use the services of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). They have seen it too far away, impractical and insecure. And because this milestone has not appeared on the demand side, the local aeronautical companies have not had the incentive to use said air port either.
Both behaviors have aroused great annoyance in the country’s high authorities. However, these authorities have not had the legal or administrative instruments to force passengers to use AIFA. In compensation, they want to open the cabotage air operation to the participation of foreign operators, to apply a punitive lesson to national airlines for their hidden reluctance to take off and land at AIFA.
If, in my capacity as a professional economist, I had been told that the participation of foreign airlines in flights in national territory would be to benefit consumers, it would have been perfectly understandable.
Greater competition leads to better service, lower prices and more choice. However, visibly, this is not the motivation of the authorities with the project to open cabotage. Nor does it seem that they feel great sympathy for this segment of national consumers. And that’s probably the sentiment with respect to national airline operators as well. For these, the opening of cabotage can be tremendously detrimental and even call into question their profitability and, therefore, also their survival. But what is important is to apply an exemplary retaliation to these operators.
If what it is about is to achieve the use of AIFA against the grain, at any cost, perhaps they should consult former president López Portillo through the ouija towards the afterlife. Through this channel, they would learn of another possible solution to their problem of the underutilization of AIFA.
Expropriate the national airlines, which in the hands of the State could no longer be reluctant to force their passengers to use the AIFA. Persuasive pig’s trotter! Even in this context, the much-desired government airline operated by the Army could also be founded.
Even if the solution was to the detriment of the quality of service, air safety and the balance of public finances. But a dead dog, the rage is over! And it would be a nationalist and pro-statist solution, to the taste of the 4T.
