Optus has crashed across Australia with a significant number of customers reporting their phone, text and data services are down.
The ‘intermittent’ network disruption has caused chaos across shopping centres and some banks, with payment services suffering affectd by the outage.
‘We understand that connectivity is important and apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time,’ Optus said in a statement posted to Twitter.
‘Our technical teams are investigating as a priority and working to restore services ASAP.’
