The University of Portland and Oregon State have both secured bids in the 48-team NCAA men’s soccer tournament, highlighting a strong showing for the West Coast Conference.
As the No. 8 seed, the Portland Pilots (13-1-3) will receive a first-round bye. The team is scheduled to host a second-round match on Sunday against the winner of the game between Denver and UC Irvine.
The unseeded Oregon State Beavers (10-4-2) will host a first-round match against former Pac-12 rival Washington (10-6-2) this Thursday at Paul Lorenz Field in Corvallis. The winner of that contest will advance to the second round to face No. 5 seed SMU (11-4-4) on the road Sunday.
San Diego, the four-time defending WCC champion, also earned a first-round bye as the No. 9 seed after recently defeating Oregon State 4-2 to clinch the conference title. Should both San Diego and Portland advance, they would face each other in a potential third-round matchup.
Kickoff times and broadcast details for the first-round games are yet to be determined.
