Padma Lakshmi recently shared a series of vacation photos on Instagram, posing in a hot pink string bikini while overlooking the ocean in the Hamptons. The post came shortly after the “Taste the Nation” host, 54, opened up about her changing body and growing confidence.
In a June 2024 interview with Forbes, Lakshmi spoke candidly about the effects of perimenopause, revealing that her bra size had increased from a 34C to a 36DD in her mid-40s. “Nobody told me that your boobs get huge,” she said.
This personal experience motivated her to launch her first lingerie collection with Bare Necessities. Lakshmi explained that while her personal style remained the same, the bra options available in her new size felt “matronly and covered-up.”
The former “Top Chef” host shared her philosophy on aging with confidence, telling the outlet, “As we’re living longer and more fuller lives, we want to look great as we age. I don’t want to look like a 23-year-old, I want to look like the best version of me.”
She also offered advice to other women navigating similar life transitions. “Give yourself the empathy you would show your best girlfriend, show yourself the same grace you would afford to somebody you really love,” she advised.
In a separate discussion with Page Six Style, Lakshmi reiterated this sense of self-assurance. “I’m more confident now, physically and otherwise,” she said. “I would never go back to my 20s, even if it meant I had a body that was more fit and skinny and tight. You know, I look OK now!”
