San Diego Padres infielder Jose Iglesias, known for his skills on the baseball diamond, will showcase his musical talents in a special performance at Petco Park.
Iglesias, a Latin-pop artist who performs under the stage name Candelita, is scheduled to join the acclaimed Mexican band La Adictiva for a concert on Thursday, September 25, in Gallagher Square. His stage name, which translates to “little flame,” is inspired by his father’s nickname, Candelario, and originated in his native Cuba.
The performance will feature his newly released single, “Roto,” alongside La Adictiva, as well as his track “OMG,” which debuted earlier in the 2024 Major League Baseball season. Iglesias joined the Padres organization this spring as a minor league free agent.
La Adictiva, a band from Sinaloa, Mexico, has earned multiple Latin Grammy and Billboard Latin Music Award nominations for major hits like “En Peligro de Extinción” and “Después de Ti, Quién.”
Tickets for the concert will go on sale to the public on Thursday at 10 a.m.
