The director of the hospital’s pediatric departments, Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, said, “The intensive care room was subjected to Israeli bombing and there were 3 children in it. The bombing was direct. When we entered the room after the bombing, we found the children under the bed, among them seriously injured, and there were mothers who were also injured.”
He added, “We are unable to describe what we are experiencing now. The hospital receives dozens of casualties. More than 25 hospitals in the Ministry of Health are out of service. We are almost the only ones providing care and custody to children, and we work under bombardment that has not subsided for even a minute.”
Abu Safiya warned of the occupation’s attempt to put Kamal Adwan Medical Complex out of service, which could lead to a “humanitarian catastrophe.”
It is noteworthy that the intense Israeli raids targeted Gaza’s hospitals full of wounded, sick and displaced people, causing most of them to go out of work after running out of fuel, in light of the continuing violent clashes between Palestinian resistance factions and the occupation forces in several areas and areas in the Gaza Strip.
