Al Jazeera presented painful testimonies of Palestinian workers after their arrival to the Palestinian side of the country Kerem Shalom crossing Commercial areas in the southeast of the Gaza Strip, after the Israeli occupation released them after they had been held in harsh conditions since the start of the war on Gaza.
The occupation army transferred thousands of Gaza workers to the crossing located at the meeting point of the Egyptian-Israeli border with the Gaza Strip, after it had arrested them from their places of work inside the occupied interior following the outbreak of the war that followed Operation “Al-Aqsa floodlaunched by the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) on October 7 last year.
The released workers appeared to be in a state of extreme fatigue due to the harsh conditions of their detention, while a number of them exalted their pain and suffering and prostrated themselves on the ground of the Gaza Strip, their tongues exclaiming praise and thanks to God.
One of the returning workers said that they were subjected to various types of torture, which led some of them to death, while another indicated that a number of them died after the occupation forces left them at the crossing due to the torture they were subjected to during their detention.
While one of the returning workers said that they were pulled out every day for investigation, with their hands tied behind their backs and blindfolded, in light of the lack of food and drink, while another worker confirmed that they were being beaten morning, noon and night.
The scenes shown by the channel showed some of the effects of torture that were evident on the workers’ bodies after their arrival, while a sixty-year-old worker reported that they were completely stripped of their clothes during the detention period.
The number of released workers is estimated at about 3,200 out of 18,500 workers, not all of whom were in Israel at the outbreak of the war because their work was halted due to “Jewish holidays.”
