The Palestinian forces, parties and factions participating in the general elections in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, signed a code of honor that guarantees the success and conduct of the electoral process without any hindrances.
The parties and factions participating in the elections said in the joint statement: “We are the forces and factions of national action and political parties participating in the general Palestinian elections, and we are keen to conduct the electoral process in all its stages with transparency and integrity and to be dominated by honest competition between the competing electoral lists, in a manner that serves and enhances national unity and the public interest. And safeguarding the citizen’s constitutional right to choose.
She added, “Realizing the importance of adhering to the electoral law and the regulations and instructions issued thereunder to regulate the conduct of the electoral process, we pledge to abide by the provisions of the decision by Law No. 1 of 2007 regarding general elections and its amendments by Decree Law No. 1 of 2021 and the relevant presidential decrees No. 3 of 2021 regarding the call for legislative elections. Presidential Decree, the National Council, Presidential Decree No. 5 of 2021 regarding the promotion of public freedoms, and the presidential decree issued on March 1 of 2021 regarding the formation of the Electoral Cases Court.
It affirmed its full compliance with the regulations, instructions and decisions issued by the Central Elections Committee regarding the conduct of the electoral process in its various stages in a way that achieves integrity, transparency and the model that expresses the Palestinian people and their great sacrifices.
And she stressed “its commitment to the final and official legislative elections results issued by the Central Elections Commission or the competent election cases court.”
