PAN, PRI and PRD celebrate the SCJN’s brake on the electoral “Plan B”

Separately, the national presidents of the PAN, Marko Cortes; of the ATAlejandro Moreno, and the PRDJesús Zambrano, celebrated that a minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) has granted the INE a suspension against the second package of electoral reforms, known as “Plan B”, promoted by Morena and the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador in the Congress of the Union, without the endorsement of the opposition.

“The SCJN admitted the constitutional controversy of the INE against the “Plan B” of Morena, because it violates the law and threatens the autonomy of our electoral body. Let it be clear, no to López Obrador’s abuse of power and no to the destruction of democracy,” said PAN member Marko Cortés.

For his part, also from his social networks, the PRD Jesús Zambrano said that “the decision of the Court to suspend the so-called Plan B is a very good omen that the division of powers and the democratic regime will prevail. Great day for Mexico, bad news for the autocrat Palacio.

Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, national president of the PRI, said: “democracy defends itself. I celebrate the SCJN’s decision to grant the suspension requested by the INE against attempts to dismantle its structure and weaken its procedures through Plan B. Another victory for Mexico’s democracy!”

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, PAN member Santiago Creel, also celebrated the suspension granted by Minister Javier Laynez Potisek.

“Good news for Mexico! There is still division of powers in the Republic. The suspension of Plan B that the SCJN has decided is good news to maintain democracy and respect for the Constitution and the law, ”she considered.

The PRI senator, Claudia Ruiz Massieu, explained that the admission of the lawsuit filed by the INE against Plan B and the suspension of its effects, “is a great step in the battle against unconstitutionality, authoritarianism and the regression of our democracy. It is a good day for the rule of law”.
