Furious parents demand their $60 entry fees back from winter wonderland likened to the Fyre Festival with warehouse of sad decorations and a mobility scooter as Santa’s sleigh

A young mother has warned other parents to steer clear of a ‘disappointing’ Santa’s village event costing nearly $60 held in an empty warehouse.
‘Step inside Santa’s Winter Village and enjoy fun festive activities at every turn,’ a promotion for the event, held at Colannades Shopping Centre in Adelaide, stated.
‘It was supposed to be a winter wonderland… looking at the photos all you see is cheap and tacky Christmas decorations, so very disappointed.’ mother-of-two Ellie said.

The event in Noarlunga in the city’s south, promised a ‘snowy trail through an enchanted forest’ along with ‘Santa’s workshop’ and ‘Polar express train’.
What they actually got for the $60 entry fee to an empty former Masters hardware warehouse was compared to the infamous Fyre Festival.
Photos posted by Ellie on Wednesday show a red mobility scooter parked with carriages attached to the rear and a maze consisting of one-metre-high metal safety barriers draped in tinsel.
‘Just a warning, don’t buy Santa’s Winter village tickets. Nowhere was it stated it would be a hand made from pallets, lanterns, tinsel, plastic plates and cardboard.’
‘I have to try to get my money back… so many one star reviews. Looks like it’s not going to happen. I haven’t even attended the event myself yet but I’ve already been denied a refund.’
Ellie said she was forwarded the photos from friends and other people who had already attended the event, with tickets being sold through Eventbrite and costing $58.50 per adult.

The listing for the event, beginning December 12, was removed from Eventbrite’s website as of Thursday morning.
Ellie said after calling Eventbrite she was initially denied a refund but upon calling back was told they would be investigating complaints about the event and would get back to her.
Commenters on the photos were amused at the setup of the Santa’s Winter village.
‘It looks like the Fyre Festival of kid’s Santa events,’ one person posted online.
‘Wow my friend was going to send her kids there on the weekend, glad they didn’t.’ another said.
‘More like a Christmas nightmare,’ added a third.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Vicinity Centres, the owners of Colonnades Shopping Centre and Eventbrite for comment.
