A shoulder injury put an end to Pascal Siakam’s 2020-21 season earlier than expected. This ailment forced him to undergo surgery at the beginning of last June, much to the concern of the Toronto Raptors.
Already then there were serious doubts about the possibility of participating in the start of the new course but it has not been until now that a specific date for its reappearance has been shared. According to the journalist of SportsNet Power forward Michael Grange could return to coincide with Thanksgiving, set for November 25.
If this date is confirmed, Siakam would miss the first month of competition and an approximate amount of 18 games. The Raptors will begin the new course on October 21 at home against the Washington Wizards.
The Canadian franchise is in a transitional period after missing the playoffs for the first time in seven years and saying goodbye to Kyle Lowry, arguably the most important player in franchise history. With the point guard in Miami, the Raptors will look to build around his young core and more established players like Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby or Siakam himself.
