Patrick Beverley has agreed to a one-year contract for 3.2 million with the Philadelphia 76ers according to reports.
The soon to be 35-year-old veteran averaged 6.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assist per game, in 67 appearances that saw him split time between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls.
Beverley is well-revered around the league for his hard-nosed defense and incredible energy but failed to make a major impact for LA before he was traded to the Orlando Magic.
Following the trade he was bought out by Orlando, and signed with his hometown Chicago Bulls as they were trying to make a late season playoff push.
After he joined the roster Chicago went 13-9 down the stretch and moved up to the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference to qualify for the final place in the NBA Play-in tournament.

All-Star forward Demar Derozan credited Beverley’s off the court impact as a major reason for the late season surge thanks to ‘a different type of leadership.’
‘The man does everything,’ DeRozan said. ‘(It’s) electrifying, especially when we’re at home. It gets the crowd going, and you’ve got to feed off of that when you see a guy sacrificing himself for big plays and to save a possession. It carries over from there.’
Beverley had a similar effect on the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2021-22 season when his leadership helped the team make a similar late season push to make it to the postseason following three straight losing seasons.
Despite all the positives he is known for brining Beverley is now set to suit up for his fifth different franchise in 12 seasons.
Even with the addition of Beverley all eyes in Philadelphia will be on the on-going James Harden saga and if they will be able to replace him with Damian Lillard.
