Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has revealed details about the birth of his youngest daughter, Golden Raye, in a new ESPN docuseries titled “The Kingdom.” The NFL star described his daughter’s arrival in January as perfectly timed.
In a preview clip from the series, Mahomes praised his wife, Brittany, for the timing of the birth, which occurred between playoff games.
“Brittany crushed it,” he recalled. “I was watching playoff games the entire day. She went into labor after one game… baby was here before the next game, so I didn’t even miss a playoff game.” He added, “She is as locked in as I am as far as football goes.”
Golden, born in January, is the couple’s third child. They also have a daughter, Sterling Skye, 4, and a son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 2.
The docuseries, which chronicles the Chiefs’ 65-year history and modern dynasty, features the Mahomes family alongside other players and their families. It provides an inside look at the team’s 2024 season and their quest for a third consecutive Super Bowl championship, with cameras following them on the field, in the locker room, and in their personal lives.
The six-part docuseries “The Kingdom” premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN, with the first two episodes airing. The complete series will also be available to stream on ESPN+ and Disney+ beginning the same day.
