Bad news for the Chicago Bulls just days before the start of training camp. Player Patrick Williams has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle that will keep him out for four to six weeks.
If these forecasts are fulfilled, the sophomore could miss the first games of the new year, as reported by the journalist from The Athletic Shams Charania. The Bulls will start the course on October 20 against the Detroit Pistons.
Williams was selected fourth in the 2020 draft after a single college year at Florida State. Despite the fact that the Bulls were unable to meet the goal of fighting for the playoffs, the power forward emerged as one of the positive notes of the season. His averages of 9.2 points and 4.6 rebounds in 27.9 minutes per game served to be included in the Rookies Second Quintet.
For its part, the team led by Billy Donovan runs into its first obstacle of any magnitude when the new season has not even started. Of course, expectations remain very high after incorporating DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso during the offseason.
