It is not the first time that Republican Representative from Arizona Paul Gosar has faced criticism for his extremist positions related to the far right and white supremacism. But last Sunday, Gosar crossed a line that, for now, has led Twitter to remove a controversial video from his account in which he seems to kill one of the politicians of the most left wing of the Democratic Party, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez.
Altering a recording of a Japanese anime animation tape —Attack on Titan—, the Republican began his call on Twitter to see the video with the following phrase: “Are there anime followers out there?” Then, in 90 seconds, the heroes of history, who must take down some giants that have devastated half of civilization, are supplanted by the faces of Congressman Gosar (the controversial Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert also participate) . In one shot, one of the titans has the face of Ocasio-Cortez and Gosar-hero jumps during which he cuts the back and neck of the democrat with a sword, which he kills. In another scene, Gosar brandishes two swords in front of a figure representing the President of the United States, Joe Biden.
After landing last Sunday in Glasgow (Scotland), where she traveled to attend the COP26 climate summit, the Democrat made her opinion known through a message also on Twitter. “A sinister member I work with and who funds neo-Nazi groups has shared a video in which he fantasizes about my murder.” Ocasio Cortez, despite the seriousness of the matter, is convinced that Gosar will not face sanctions. Not only that, according to the Democrat, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy encourages her to continue to do so by not condemning her behavior.
So while I was en route to Glasgow, a creepy member I work with who fundraises for Neo-Nazi groups shared a fantasy video of him killing me
And he’ll face no consequences bc @GOPLeader cheers him on with excuses.
Fun Monday! Well, back to work bc institutions don’t protect woc https://t.co/XRnMAKsnNO

For the New York congresswoman’s party mates, the Republican politician’s actions must have consequences. “This is unhealthy behavior from Rep. Paul Gosar. He tweeted a video showing him killing Representative Ocasio-Cortez from both his official account and his personal account. In any workplace in the United States, if a co-worker made an animation video killing another co-worker, that person would be fired, “said the representative for California. Ted Location.

When he posted the video Sunday night, the congressman was proud that his team’s creativity was “through the roof.” Gosar’s director for digital content, Jessica Lycos, rejected that the recording glorified violence and limited herself to advising that “people relax.”
Never oblivious to controversy, Gosar insists on conspiracy theories and has been one of the congressmen who most eagerly tried to annul the electoral college votes that gave Biden the victory before and after the act of insurrection against the Capitol carried out on last January 6 by a mob of supporters of former President Donald Trump, of whom he is a close ally. Nor did he distance himself from what happened in Charlottesville in the summer of 2017, when a demonstration by white supremacists led to riots and the death of a woman.
