Barcelona midfielder Pedri explained that German coach Hansi Flick’s strictness is behind the team’s great start this season.
The Catalan team now leads by 9 points, after beating Espanyol 3-1 on Sunday, and Pedri believes that the entire team deserves praise.
Pedri said – in statements reported by the Relivo network – “Behind Flick’s friendly personality, there is a strictness that is the basis of the team’s success.”
The newspaper explained that former coach Xavi Hernandez’s rule stipulated that players who were late for meetings, lectures or training were fined. The fine was usually one thousand euros for each minute of delay, and was doubled as time increased.
As for Flick, the penalty is exclusion from the starting lineup, and Frenchman Jules Kounde suffered from this matter after being late to a meeting before one of the matches, as he participated as a substitute.

The secret of Barcelona’s brilliance
Regarding the secret of Barcelona’s brilliance, Pedri said, “The key is the strength with which we play in matches. The defense line does a wonderful job, and when we have the ball, we can get many opportunities.”
He added, “Our players on the offensive line are the ones who determine our style, when you see how Lamine Jamal plays individually or when you send a cross to Rafinha. The players do what they want. They are in a moment of enjoyment.”
Barcelona has a variety of offensive solutions, although the club did not conclude major deals during the last summer transfer market, with the exception of Dani Olmo.
Barcelona scored 50 goals in 15 matches the team played this season, an average of 3.3 goals per match.
Flick’s style, and his dynamic and attacking play, won the admiration of fans and observers, who praised the transformation that occurred in the “Blaugrana” under his leadership.
