Pemex will process less than 1 million barrels of crude oil in 2023

Mexican oil (Pemex) published its Business Plan 2023 – 2027 where he revealed that even with the start of activities of the new Olmeca refinery, in Paraíso, Tabasco, it will process 995,000 barrels per day on average in 2023, in contrast to the 808,000 it processes today.

With this goal, the state company admits that it will remain 455,000 barrels per day below the commitment made by the current administration when announcing the Dos Bocas refinerywhich was to reach a process of 1,450 million barrels per day of crude oil processing next year.

The ceiling of one million barrels of crude oil processing in Pemex’s refining will be reached until 2024, and it will only reach 1,343 million barrels per day, that is, 107,000 barrels per day less than the projection made when announcing the new refinery. in Tabasco.

In section Big projectswhere the company reserves almost all the strategic information on how the works will be carried out and only places the information that is already public for the projects, it is reflected that the Dos Bocas refinery will start operations next year, although it will not indicates when.

But also that the incremental projects in existing centers such as Tula, Salina Cruz and Cadereyta, will begin after 2023, which seems to cause these delays in the company’s incremental plans.
