With family obligations out of the way and a few days remaining until calendar’s flip to 2025, it’s officially time for the jam band holiday season. The run-up to New Year’s Eve 2024 will witness concerts by Phish, Billy Strings, Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, Goose, and many more, and fans won’t have to leave the comfort of their couches with livestreams from nugs.net and LivePhish. Bob Weir & Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack will kick off the New Year’s season on Friday, December 27th with their first of four shows at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center for the Performing Arts starting at 7:30 p.m (all times listed in ET). That same night, jamgrass outfits Kitchen Dwellers and Mountain Grass Unit will stage their only shows of the NYE season at Ardmore Music Hall in Pennslyvania (8 p.m.) and Iron City Bham in Birmingham, AL (9 p.m.) respectively.
On Saturday, December 28th, Bob Weir and his Wolf Bros will return to Fort Lauderdale while Phish kicks off its annual four-night run at Madison Square Garden in New York City (7:30 p.m.). Across the country, Umphrey’s McGee will embark on the first night of its four-show, two-venue Colorado New Year’s run, beginning at Denver’s Ogden Theatre (10 p.m.). Come Sunday, December 29th, Billy Strings will enter the chat with his first of three shows from UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans (8:30 p.m.). Phish and Umphrey’s McGee will return to their respective venues while Bobby takes a night off and New Orleans favorites Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen go live from Tipitina’s for a one-off show (10:30 p.m.).
Monday, December 30th will feature additional livestreams by The Disco Biscuits from The Fillmore in Philadelphia (8 p.m.) and Goose from the Moody Center in Austin (8:30 p.m.). Phish, Billy Strings, and Bob Weir will return to their respective venues, while Umphrey’s McGee moves to the Boulder Theater for the remainder of the year. Finally, on December 31st, 2024 will come to a close with concerts by Phish in New York City (7 p.m.), Billy Strings in New Orleans (9:30 p.m.), Bob Weir in Fort Lauderdale (8 p.m.), The Disco Biscuits in Philadelphia (9 p.m.), Dopapod in Columbus, OH (9 p.m.), Goose in Austin (10 p.m.), Umphrey’s McGee in Boulder (10 p.m.), Galactic in New Orleans (11:55 p.m.), and The California Honeydrops in Menlo Park, CA (11 p.m.)
