The Suns do not plan to hit the brakes in the race to be the first seed in the Western Conference. Those of Arizona visited the Pelicans last night and showed their power to win with solvency and place with a balance of 29-8, which keeps them only half a game behind the Golden State Warriors.
Led by an excellent Devin Booker, who achieved 33 points and 9 rebounds, Monty Williams’ boys (he was back on the bench after leaving the health and safety protocols against the coronavirus) set the pace from the first bars of the match to finish the first fourth 11 points up. From that moment they played with such an advantage and only halfway through the last period did they go through any trouble when New Orleans got only two points (101-103). There was no panic and with a partial of 14-2 they sentenced the crash.
Booker was great scoring, but for Monty Williams the key to victory was in Chris Paul. The veteran point guard led the team as only he knows how and distributed up to 15 assists (five of them in the last six minutes of the game.
‘He was meeting the boys all night. He had that trademark look in his eyes when I pointed out some plays. He had a really good pace and the guys were taking shots. Chris was finding the places where his companions were all night, “he says.
