Far-right activist Tommy Robinson is being sought by police investigating an alleged assault at London’s St Pancras station. Authorities confirmed Robinson, 42, boarded a flight out of the country hours after a video of the incident surfaced online.
The incident, which occurred on Monday evening, left a man hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A video circulating online shows a man lying motionless on the station floor while Robinson paces nearby, claiming the man had attacked him first. In the footage, Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is heard telling an onlooker, “He come at me, you saw that.”
British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the station just after 8:40 p.m. on Monday. In a statement, the BTP confirmed, “Following a report of an assault at St Pancras station… the suspect, a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire, boarded a flight out of the country in the early hours of this morning.” They added that detectives are working to bring him into custody for questioning and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Robinson had reportedly been distributing leaflets at the station earlier in the day. The far-right monitoring group Hope Not Hate describes him as “the best-known far-right extremist in Britain.” In recent years, Robinson has presented himself as a journalist focusing on anti-Muslim and anti-migrant issues. The destination of his flight remains unknown.
