Police are investigating the mystery death of a nineteen-year-old man whose body was found at home 15 hours after he called for an ambulance that never arrived.
Bradley Holder’s family were left ‘broken’ after he died days before Christmas on December 19 despite calling for emergency assistance at his home in Burslem, near Stoke on Trent.
Mr Holder called 999 himself at 6:12pm on December 18 but West Midlands Ambulance Service was apparently so busy they did not dispatch an ambulance to him.
A second 999 call was then made by someone else in the house at 9:04am on December 19, but Mr Holder was pronounced dead at the scene just minutes later.

StokeonTrentLive readers paid tribute to Mr Holder following his tragic death.
Teresa Barrett said: ‘I taught Brad in year four. He was a lovely lad with a big heart who made me smile many times.’
Kerry Pedley said: ‘Brad was a top lad. I’ve known him for years and he always had time for people and always had a smile.’
Kaash Johnson added: ‘What a lad you were, Brad.’
Mr Holder was living in Beaconsfield Drive in Blurton and had previously attended Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy.
A loved one of the man said the family were left ‘broken’ by his death.
‘He was one of the nicest lads you could ever meet. He was just a lovely, lovely kind-mannered lad. We are heartbroken,’ they said.
The 19-year-old’s death is currently being treated as ‘unexplained’ by Staffordshire Police.
They called in the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following Mr Holder’s death. The IOPC has now concluded any investigation without any further action.
A police spokesman said: ‘The death continues to be treated as unexplained while we await the outcome of a post-mortem examination and toxicology report. A file is currently being prepared for HM Coroner.’
According to HullLive, a spokesman for the ambulance service said when the first 999 call was made on Sunday evening they were experiencing long handover delays at hospitals – with nearly 80 other calls of the same category awaiting a dispatch in the county.
Anyone who saw Mr Holder before he passed away has been urged to call the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
