Polish President Andrzej Duda awarded the star Robert Lewandowski, the striker of his country and Bayern Munich, today, Monday, the “Bologna Restituta” medal, which is one of the highest decorations in Poland.
Lewandowski, who was crowned the world’s best player last year, was honored for his football achievements and promoting Poland abroad.
At a ceremony in the presidential palace in the capital Warsaw, the Polish president described the star Lewandowski as a “national sports hero” and praised the hard work he had as a soccer player.

Lewandowski emphasized the role played by his colleagues and coaches as well as his family and friends, stressing his focus on the challenges ahead.
