A Reuters / Ipsos poll revealed that a simple majority of Americans support the need for the Senate to condemn former president Donald Trump of “inciting disobedience” and prevent him from holding public office.

According to this poll, which was conducted last Wednesday and Thursday, 51% of Americans believe that “Trump should be indicted for inciting the storming of the Congress building on the sixth of January.”
While the poll showed that 37% of the respondents believed that Trump should be “not guilty”, while 12% indicated that they were “not sure” of the conviction decision.
On Trump’s political future, and the possibility of running for public office again, the poll confirmed that 55% of Americans believed that Trump should be “not allowed” to hold office through elections again, while 34% indicated that he should be “allowed” to do so, While 11% of them hesitated, and explained that they are “not sure.”
The poll stated that the responses to the questions were divided “almost completely” along party lines, as 9 out of 10 Democrats believed that “Trump should be condemned and prevented from taking office again,” while less than 2 out of 10 Republicans agreed, that.
It should be noted that if the Senate votes to convict Trump, a second vote will be necessary to prevent him from taking office again.
