The results of a Gallup poll in the United States showed President Donald Trump’s popularity has fallen to its lowest levels, while his average approval rating is below the index of any US president who preceded him.
The results of the survey, which took place between January 4 and 15, showed that only 34% of Americans consider Trump’s performance in office well, and this is the lowest level of Trump’s popularity during the entire period of his presidency.
Earlier, Trump’s lowest level of popularity was recorded in August 2017 and October – December 2017, when it reached 35% on the back of fears of a conflict with North Korea and investigations into Trump’s alleged links to Russia, which no evidence was found at a later time.
Trump’s popularity reached its highest level (49%) in early 2020, after he was acquitted before the Senate of the charges against him in his first impeachment case and before the start of the Corona virus spreading widely in the United States.
Trump’s approval rating averaged 41% during the four years of his presidency, the lowest level in the history of Gallup Polls, which have tracked the popularity of presidents in the United States since 1938.
He is also the only president whose popularity has never reached 50% during his entire term, which was at 38% during his first year in the White House, 40% in the second year, 42% in the third, and 43% in the last year.
