The Blazers were victorious in the scoring duel between Anfernee Simons and Trae Young. The Portland player signed the best performance of his career with 43 points, while the Atlanta player left until 56. Both were unstoppable, but the smile ended up appearing in the Oregon franchise, which broke a streak of four consecutive losses with a tight 136-131.
Simons, who missed the previous game, took over from Damian Lillard (rest) to unleash all his basketball with nine 3-pointers (a career-high for any Portland player this year) and reach the 43 points, thus becoming the youngest player to do so in history with the Blazers jersey. The previous record belonged to Geoff Petrie.
“I can’t really take credit for how I played tonight… Sadly, my grandfather died last night of cancer. This is all for him, honestly. I give him credit, I dedicated this game to him, ”says the young Portland player.
