Portugal and Cyprus joined the list of European countries that announced the suspension of the use of the British-Swedish company “AstraZeneca” anti-corona virus vaccine.
The Portuguese newspaper “Publico” reported that the country’s authorities decided to suspend the use of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine after recording side effects in two of the people who received the vaccine.
In turn, Cyprus decided to suspend the use of the vaccine until March 18, until the European Medicines Agency issued its report on cases of deep vein thrombosis in a number of people who received the vaccine.

The Cypriot Ministry of Health added that vaccination with the “Moderna” and “Pfizer” vaccines in Cyprus will continue normally, according to the previously scheduled schedule.
In March, some European countries recorded several deaths due to vein thrombosis among people who received the “AstraZeneca” vaccine, without confirming the link between that and the vaccine.
Among the countries that have suspended the use of the “AstraZeneca” vaccine are Austria, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, and others.
