How to Play and Win Powerball
To win a prize in Powerball, a player must match at least the red Powerball number, which earns $4. Matching one white ball and the Powerball also results in a $4 prize. Prizes increase as more numbers are matched.
A standard Powerball ticket costs $2. For an additional $1, players can add the Power Play feature to multiply non-jackpot winnings. The Double Play option, also an extra $1, enters a player’s numbers into a separate drawing for a chance to win up to $10 million.
Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $182 Million
The Mega Millions jackpot has also increased, reaching an estimated $182 million for its next drawing on Tuesday. The cash option is valued at $82.1 million. No one won the grand prize in the previous drawing on Friday, August 8. The winning numbers for that drawing were 2, 6, 8, 14, 49, and the Mega Ball was 12.
