PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — The 47th President of the United States endorsed Congressman Byron Donalds as the 47th Governor of Florida on Thursday night.
President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post, “I know Byron well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a TOTAL WINNER!”
Donalds is a Republican politician and financial analyst who has served the Naples and Fort Myers District since he was elected in 2021. Before that, he served as a Florida lawmaker. He’s been a huge supporter of former President Trump.

The current Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, is about to hit his term limit in January 2027. DeSantis was elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 as Florida Governor.
Trump concluded his endorsement statement by saying, “Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!”
