Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, revealed, in an exclusive statement to “The Seventh Day”, that the conference of the Egyptian Society of Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis will be held in Cairo from 27 to 29 October 2021, and the conference is honored this year under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic The conference will be held under the title “Egypt’s Pioneering Experience in Dealing with COVID-19”.
He said that the conference, in addition to discussing the Corona virus and methods of its diagnosis and treatment, there are other topics to be discussed in all other areas of diagnosis, treatment and prevention, noting that the conference will be attended for the permitted number, and on social media platforms 14,000 doctors will participate in the conference.
He said that all modern devices are provided in Egypt, which helps in accurate diagnosis and gives patients an opportunity for early diagnosis and treatment, which gives better results in treating Egyptian patients, stressing that Egypt’s doctors have experience in dealing with these devices.
The Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs added that we are still in the fourth wave, explaining that there is an increase in the numbers of the Corona virus, and there is also an increase in giving vaccinations, adding, “This is a positive thing,” but there are specific groups that must receive influenza vaccination.
He said, that there is no conflict between the corona and influenza vaccines, as the corona virus is given to all groups, but chest doctors ask some groups to take the flu vaccination, so they have to vaccinate, especially with the advent of winter, adding, we are still in the fourth wave, and this calls us to Applying precautionary measures of social distancing, wearing masks, and staying away from gatherings, in order to limit this wave, stressing that it is noticeable in this wave due to vaccinations and due to the response to prevention methods, the affected cases are simple or medium cases and are dealt with, and cases that need hospitalization, Or intensive care, there is a very large capacity for these cases, and dealing with them, whether by the presence of beds in hospitals, medicines, and medical supplies.
He explained, that there are experiments on a group of drugs to treat the Corona virus, but none of them has been officially registered so far, noting that there is still no drug dedicated to this virus, and currently used are the available drugs, which treat other diseases but are used to reduce the risk of infection. Symptoms of the Corona virus, explaining that we are closely following these drugs, and once they are registered, they will be provided to the Egyptian patient.
