The latest contestant to take home The Showcase prize on The Price is Right took a “bit of a gamble.”
This past week on the CBS game show has been nothing short of memorable. Contestants have been winning big on rarely-won games after bold decisions and obscene gestures.
The luck continued during the last episode when contestant Anna made an absurd bid during The Showcase.
Anna and her opponent Amy Lee went into the final game eager to win the big prize.
After Anna decided to pass, Amy Lee bid on a laptop, craft collection, camping gear and a brand new car. She originally guessed $55,500 but the audience encouraged her to go lower. Amy Lee ended up making a final decision of $40,000.
Anna’s prize included three all-expense-paid trips to stay in five-star resorts in Cancun, Mexico, Berlin, Germany and Bali, Indonesia.
Before making her bid, she admitted: “Those are excellent trips.”
She looked at her family for guidance, which is when she questioned their judgment.
Anna asked: “One Dollar?”
She decided to trust their judgment when she officially bid one dollar. Afterwards, she took a step back from the podium and crouched down, in disbelief at her decision.
“Alright, haven’t seen that in a while,” Drew Carey said.

The contestant made her choice as an educated viewer who knows that if one person overbids, regardless of them potentially being closer in price, the other player automatically wins.
After much anticipation, the host revealed the price of the trips to be $38,253.
Walking over to her opponent: he said: “All comes down to you Amy Lee.“
Carey unveiled the actual price of her prize to be $29,557. Despite her being much closer in price, the winning bid went to Anna, who then ran across stage to celebrate with her family.
The host admitted: “A bit of a gamble but not really.”
Adding onto what she won during the segment, Anna ended up going home with a prize fund of $59,857.
