Madrid, Nov 29 (.).- The Irish retail company Primark has announced an investment of 100 million euros in Spain and the creation of 1,000 jobs, with the opening of a minimum of eight stores and the expansion of another in the two next years.
As reported by the company itself, the new stores and expansion incorporate an investment of 80 million euros and the remaining 20 million will be devoted to improving and renovating others.
The next openings will take place in Lanzarote, Melilla and Toledo, where it will open its first stores in the next twelve months, and in Jaén and Lorca (Murcia), as well as three other new establishments in the Community of Madrid, which already has eight stores. .
Primark opened its first store in Spain 16 years ago, in May 2006, in the Plenilunio shopping center in Madrid, and now has 56 stores throughout the country, the company’s second most important market, which with the new establishments It will add 10,000 jobs.
Altogether, it has 530 stores distributed in 14 countries in Europe and the United States, employing more than 70,000 people and aspiring to reach 530 stores by 2026. It has recently announced investments of 140 million pounds (162 million euros) in the United Kingdom and another 100 million euros in France.
