(CNN) — Priscilla Presley challenged the validity of the will of Lisa Marie Presley, her late daughter.
In court documents obtained by CNN, Priscilla Presley’s lawyers filed a petition to challenge an amendment to her daughter’s will that was made in 2016. The petition claims that Lisa Marie Presley removed her mother and her former business manager, Barry Siegel, from as co-trustees and replaced them with his sons Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin Keough subsequently passed away in 2020.
The petition argues that, among other issues related to the amendment, Priscilla Presley did not receive the change while her daughter was alive, as required by her will, and that the document misspells Priscilla’s name. The petition also notes that the amendment was not witnessed or notarized, and in that regard questions the authenticity of Lisa Marie’s signature.
“(The signature) appears inconsistent with (Lisa Marie Presley’s) usual and customary signature,” the documents say.
CNN has contacted representatives for Priscilla Presley and Lisa Marie Presley for comment.
The petition was filed just days after Elvis Presley’s only daughter was buried at his former residence, Graceland.
Lisa Marie Presley passed away on January 12 after being hospitalized following an apparent cardiac arrest at her Los Angeles home. She was 54 years old.
The cause of his death is pending investigation by the Los Angeles County Coroner.
