Most people will be guilty of using bleach for all cleaning scenarios, from rubbing out a stubborn stain to cleaning the windows.
But a professional cleaner has advised you should avoid it all together as it does more harm than good and can end up ruining grouting and bathroom tiles.Â
Kacie, from Melbourne, has shared a series of videos on TikTok revealing she uses washing up liquid for most tasks, including cleaning the shower, window and mirrors.
The cleaning influencer, who has gained more than 169,000 fans with her tips which she shares via The Big Clean Co , says the only thing bleach should be used for is cleaning the toilet and she even uses washing up liquid to mop her floors.
An Australian professional cleaner and company director (pictured) has shared why you should never use bleach on tiles
In one clip, Kacie shows the long-term damage caused by overuse of bleach, and explains that it erodes the grout which will create tiny holes that can’t be fixed without regrouting.  Â
Instead, the professional cleaner swears by washing up liquid mixed with warm water, as she claims it’s the best thing to be used for everyday, all-purpose cleaning.Â
For more stubborn stains, Kacie says you should create a spray by adding water to bicarbonate of soda and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, and then applying it to stains and scrubbing.Â
She adds that hydrogen peroxide is different to bleach as it doesn’t have chlorine, which is the ingredient that is toxic to the environment and  your own health.
In another video, she explains why washing up liquid is the best product as it is PH neutral and better for furniture than the likes of homemade ingredients with lemon that are acidic and can be damaging to furniture and enamel. Â
‘If you speak to a tile manufacturer you’ll find that just about the only thing they’ll ever approve of is water with it’s neutral PH levels.
‘The thing about dish washing liquid is that – and this is why it’s our go-to product – it’s just about as close as you’re going to get to a neutral PH.’
And another viral clip shows the professional showing she you shouldn’t use bleach on enamel.Â
In the video, she shows how soaking kitchen roll in bleach overnight and leaving in on silcone erodes the surfaces and leave you with more mould.Â
Her other tips include hoover the hob before scrubbing it, and she adds that floors – including those in the bathroom – should always be hoovered before they are mopped.
In the clips, Kacie explained that using bleach can ruin grouting and enamel and create long term problems including tiny holes that will crack and crumble
Kacie added that bleach will destroy the bathroom enamel as ‘the whole point of silicone’ is to keep moisture out of crevices
The latest video comes after Kacie went viral on  TikTok for showing exactly how she typically cleans her toaster as dozens of people were surprised when she pulled out the crumb tray from beneath the toaster.
In the video, she used a cloth to clean the outside before she removed the crumb tray located at the base of the toaster to empty the dried pieces into a bin.
‘Wait, toasters have trays?’ one wrote, while a second said: ‘I was today years old when I found out that toasters have trays.’
