propose preferential dollar for “fair prices”

In a new attempt to attract more dollars and bring some relief to some productive sectors, the Minister of Economy in Argentina, Sergio Massa, announced a package of special measures for regional economies. However, this action combo will have a third quest, and that will not “free” this perk.

The regional economies that intend to enter this program must access the Fair Prices program, where Economy tries to include about 1,500 products, and with which it will once again look for a tool to combat inflation.

“All regional economies that enter the Fair Prices program between November 20 and December 30 will access a special exchange rate,” Massa said during a ceremony that took place this Monday at noon in Mendoza.

“We aspire that all the members of the value chains of the regional economies participate in the Fair Prices program to guarantee supply and the internal market in Argentina and so that in some way the effort that the State is going to make reaches not only the producer beneficiary of the measure, but also at the table of all Argentines”, highlighted Massa.

Until now, the acceptance of food products to go up to Fair Prices is not the best, and with this strategy Massa is looking for a way to give greater volume to the program, which would be valid for four months and would start on December 1.

According to what the minister announced, transfers of Non-Refundable Contributions (ARN) will be made for $1,500 million (9.41 million dollars) to each of the Andean provinces affected by the frosts.
