- The French side made numerous offers in the summer but they were rebuffed
- But it is now clear Alli does not feature in head coach Jose Mourinho’s plans
- Spurs are finally prepared to allow Alli to depart when the transfer window opens
Paris Saint-Germain are set to make a loan bid for Dele Alli next month, believing Tottenham are finally prepared to let the midfielder leave.
The French champions failed with loan offers for Alli in the summer transfer window, but Spurs refused to sanction his exit.
However it is now clear Alli does not feature in manager Jose Mourinho’s plans, having not made a single Premier League start since the opening-day loss to Everton in which he was substituted at half-time.
PSG are confident they can sign Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli on loan in the January window
The midfielder is not in Jose Mourinho’s plans and has not started in the Premier League since the opening day defeat by Everton
Alli, 24, has made only one top-flight appearance since then — a 21-minute cameo in the 6-1 win at Manchester United in October.
He was left on the bench in Tottenham’s Europa League win on Thursday night and the club are now prepared to let Alli depart when the transfer window opens next month. PSG think they will get their man.
Alli is open to leaving the Premier League leaders as he seeks first-team football.
He has not given up hope of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for next summer’s delayed European Championship.
But he knows getting regular playing time is his only hope of a recall.
PSG are increasingly optimistic they will get their man with Spurs now willing to let Alli leave
