Madrid, Nov 30 (.) .- Public spending on information technology (IT) will grow 6.4% in 2021 compared to 2020, according to data presented this Tuesday by IDC Research Spain.
In its latest report, for which it has consulted more than 3,000 Public Administration bodies, the consultancy firm points out that IT spending will register a compound annual growth rate of 1.2% until 2024.
By sectors, IT spending on education will experience a growth of 11% compared to last year, while the General State Administration and the Administration will increase their investment by 5.2% and 5.1%, respectively.
By areas of investment, this will focus on the maintenance of corporate management systems and legacy applications, areas in which 41.7% of the organizations plan to invest between a quarter and a half of their budget.
According to the consultancy, 81% of public companies are in the early stages of digital transformation.
In this context, a very positive scenario opens up for technology providers, especially around four main areas of action: cloud and modernization, automation and citizen experience, remote work and digital security and trust.
In addition, the report highlights that the market for services associated with the job in the public sector will reach 871.5 million euros in 2024, with a compound aggregate growth rate close to 70% thanks to the adoption of the cloud and big data and analytics services.
