Authorities have issued an alert for a 19-year-old male reported missing in the Woody Creek Plaza area, who may be in possession of a weapon.
The man was last seen at 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, leaving his residence in Woody Creek Plaza. He is described as being approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Pitkin County Sheriff Michael Buglione stated that the weapon is believed to be a handgun and that his office is assessing whether the individual poses a danger to the public.
An alert issued at 1:52 p.m. urged residents to search their property, including outbuildings and vehicles, for anything suspicious.
Officials advise the public not to engage with the individual if he is located. Instead, anyone with information or who sees the missing person should immediately call 970-716-4160 and report it to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
