Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that the protests in support of the activist Alexei Navalny, arose against the background of “accumulated Russian complaints about the epidemic.”
He said, “Regarding the fact that people went to the protests not because of this person .. Yes, you may be right. The person in question is being used now, and specifically when people in all countries of the world, including us are tired, crystallize public discontent. Dissatisfaction arises, including in relation to the conditions that people live, especially in terms of income.
He added, “When a person starts to live worse off, he begins to blame the authorities for that .. This is the fate of the presidents .. nothing can be done about it.”
He continued, “They are trying to exploit this in Europe, the United States and other countries. They are trying to benefit from that, and things would not have been of this size without the accumulation of fatigue and complaining about the financial situation in general among the citizens.”
Putin stressed that “in the current situation, the authorities must be patient and work in a balanced way, and not dump problems with money.”
