Afif scored the only goal of the match, ensuring that Qatar secured the top spot in the first group of the tournament after the end of the second round, four points behind China, second in the standings, while the Tajikistan team occupies third place with one point on goal difference from Lebanon, which is at the bottom of the standings.

Qatar started the match strongly in search of an early goal, and the players missed more than one opportunity to score, until Afif received a through pass from Almoez Ali in the 17th minute in a one-on-one situation, and put the ball into the net.
Afif had scored two goals in Qatar's 3-0 win over Lebanon in the first round, making the Al Sadd player top the tournament's top scorers with three goals.
