Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that his country is working to reduce tension in the region by calling for a return to the Iran nuclear agreement concluded in 2015.

The Qatar News Agency quoted the Minister of Foreign Affairs as saying that “the State of Qatar is working and striving for there to be a de-escalation, and for there to be a return to the political and diplomatic process to return to the nuclear agreement.”
These statements came in media notes about two phone calls made by the Qatari minister this week with the US special representative for Iranian affairs, Robert Malley, and US national security advisor Jake Sullivan.
Sheikh Mohammed said that Qatar’s contacts are continuing with Iran and the United States in light of the strategic relations that bind the two countries.
And Abdul Rahman Al-Thani said earlier yesterday during a press conference with his Spanish counterpart, that Qatari contacts with Iran and the United States are continuing with the aim of reducing the escalation.
