Guadalajara, Jal.. After a month and 20 days after avian influenza was detected in Jalisco, the National Service for Health, Food Safety and Food Quality (Senasica) ordered the lifting of the internal quarantine imposed in 21 municipalities in the region of The Highlands of Jalisco.
After verifying, through sampling and weekly protocol laboratory tests, the absence of the virus AH5N1 in the entity’s farms, Jalisco became the second state nationwide to lift its quarantine against this disease present in nine entities of the country.
However, “the risk remains latent and preventive measures must continue,” said the Agency for Health, Safety and Agri-Food Quality (ASICA Jalisco) Through a statement in which he urged the entity’s poultry producers “not to lower their guard with the minimum biosecurity measures and to report any suspicion of the disease in their birds.”
ASICA reported that the vaccination days will continue since the application of the immunizer as a preventive strategy “is important during the quarantine and at the end to avoid recurrences.”

The federal agency imposed the quarantine on November 14, because a positive case of highly pathogenic AH5N1 avian influenza was found in a poultry production unit in the municipality of Saint Michael the Tall.
In accordance with the protocol, the quarantine had a radius of 5 and 10 kilometers to have the controlled mobilization of birds, products and by-products, as well as extreme precautions with the minimum biosecurity measures, depopulation of the infected unit, and carry out sampling cycles. in the focal and perifocal area.
