Querétaro advances in the digital transformation agenda

Queretaro, Qro. The Information Technology (IT) industry is working on the development of a multisectoral agenda that aims to promote digital transformation in various productive sectors of the entity.

The project is expected to be ready and implemented in 2023, said the president of Vórtice IT Querétaro, State Information Technology Cluster, Jorge Buitrón Arriola.

According to the industrialist, it is an agenda developed by the Private Initiative (IP) and the state administration. The document will integrate between 15 and 20 route maps, one for each sector.

This project stems from the TD2035 initiative that was launched by the cluster to promote digital transformation and move towards the knowledge economy.

“(They work on) making the multisectoral digital transformation agenda to bring Querétaro to the knowledge economy, that is a guiding document that we are going to do together,” he said.

The president of Vórtice IT explained that one of the purposes of TD2035 is to achieve agreements and coordination between all the sectors involved, in order to join efforts, because one of the challenges that Querétaro has is to achieve this integration and, in particular, the sum of public instances.

Although the state has made progress in digitization, there are still gaps to reduce, coupled with a lack of coordination.

“If you turn to Chiapas, we are very advanced, much progress has been made, but I see that there is much to be done, I cannot remain calm with what has been done. I think that Querétaro has a lot to do. He has initiative and a lot of capacity, coordination and communication are lacking, ”he explained.

Therefore, he stressed that it is necessary for the government sector to take into account the installed capacities of companies, clusters, civil associations, research centers, universities and other instances that are working on the matter. .

From the municipal governments they can be added with strategies that do not even imply large amounts of money, but rather collaborate with the IP and the research centers, added Jorge Buitrón, speaking in particular of the municipal government of Querétaro.

Meanwhile, one of the projects that are underway is to create a smart cruise ship, an initiative by Vórtice IT and TD2035, in which companies such as Continental and Microsoft collaborate, as well as the municipal government of Querétaro. This initiative foresees a pilot phase that will be carried out in one of the most complicated cruises in the city.
