Querétaro will play without an audience for a year

The Assembly of Owners of Mexican soccer decided to disqualify the board of Gallos Blancos de Querétaro for five years, after the brawl recorded during the match against Atlas at the La Corregidora stadium.

Mikel Arriola, head of the MX League and Yon de Luisa, president of the Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF), announced that the disqualification applies to directors Gabriel Solares, Adolfo Ríos, Greg Taylor and Manuel Velarde.

“It is imposed on White Roosters Club of Queretaro a sanction consisting of playing for 1 year all the games played at home behind closed doors, said sanction having to be computed from March 8, 2022 to March 7, 2023″, detailed the Mexican Soccer Federation it’s a statement.

The FMF also explained that the Querétaro Club will be able to play its home games at the current venue or at another venue, for which it will need to have the permission from Liga MX authorities.

The Querétaro animation group will not be able to attend the games played by this Club at home for three years, and this same sanction will be applied for one year for the games played as a visitor.

As an Atlas animation group, they will also not be able to attend the games played by this Club, as a visitor, during the next six months, from March 8 to September 8, 2022.

According to the Competition Regulations, Club Querétaro will lose the match against Atlas, corresponding to Day 9, by a score of 0-3.

They arrest 10 alleged perpetrators of the fight

The Attorney General of the State of Querétaro reported this Tuesday morning that 10 men were arrested as allegedly responsible for the violent incidents that left 26 people injured during the game between Gallos de Querétaro and Atlas last Saturday.

The local prosecutor’s office detailed that 21 simultaneous searches were carried out in the municipalities of Querétaro, El Marqués, Colón and San Juan del Río to locate those responsible for the brawl recorded on March 5.

On Monday night, a judge issued 26 arrest warrants after the alleged perpetrators of this violent brawl unleashed in the stands and then transferred to the field were identified, thanks to images from the media and social networks.

The judge also authorized the search of the homes of the alleged perpetrators, from whom 82 sports clothes with insignia of the Querétaro team, 4 pairs of sports shoes -some with possible blood stains-, 22 cell phones and other objects were seized.

The incidents broke out around minute 63 of the match between Querétaro and Atlas, of the MX Leaguethe Mexican first division professional league when a group of fans of the local team threw themselves into the stands against the visiting cheering crowd.

This generated a brawl that led to the subsequent invasion of the field and suspension of the game. The balance of the brawl was 26 injured people who had to be hospitalized, some seriously. Until Monday the 19th they had already received a medical discharge.
