ATLANTA, Ga. – Residents can expect warm and muggy conditions this evening, with a 20% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. While most of the region will remain dry, any storms that develop could feature heavy downpours and frequent lightning.
The probability of precipitation will increase to 40% on Tuesday, with storms most likely to occur after 2 p.m. and continue into the early evening.
Later in the week, a cool front is forecast to move into north Georgia, bringing a higher chance of rain that will extend into the weekend. Due to the increased storm potential, weather alerts are in place from Thursday through Saturday. The additional rainfall is also expected to bring cooler temperatures, with highs dropping into the 80s by Thursday.
