Radio and Television workers obtain deferred salary increase of 8%

Los radio and television workers they will have a deferred salary increase for this 2023. The first will be 5% and will be applied from this first of February; and a second increase of 3% as of August 1.

Patrick Flores Sandovalnational leader of the Industrial Union of Workers and Artists of Television and Similar and Related Radio of the Mexican Republic (SITATYR), affirmed that there is a commitment from the industrialists of this sector to maintain the workforce.

With the agreement reached, the procedure of the Review Commission of the Radio and Television Industry Contract, regarding the salary review, is terminated, likewise the summons to strike of more than 30,000 workers in this sector is averted.

José Antonio García Herrera, president of the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry (RIGHT) commented that this is a good arrangement, a sign of the maturity of the unions and employers to continue working together.

Also present were the leaders of the Union of Radio, Television and Telecommunications Workers (STIRTT), Ricardo Acedo Samaniego; as well as Miguel Ángel Palomera de la Ree, General Secretary of the Industrial Union of Employees and Artists of Radio and Television, Similar and Related Companies of the Mexican Republic (SIEMARM).

Finally, the parties agreed to seek to preserve jobs and respect the labor achievements of this sector.
