The Toronto Raptors have exercised their third-year team options contained in the Precious Achiuwa and Malachi Flynn contracts, as announced by the franchise itself in a press release. Both options comprise the 2022-23 season.
Achiuwa was selected 20th in the 2020 draft by the Miami Heat. On South Beach he averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 61 games played during his rookie year. He was later traded to the Raptors as part of the operation that sent Kyle Lowry to Florida.
For his part, Flynn was part of the same litter although he would not be chosen until pick number 29 by the Canadian franchise. In 47 games with the Raptors, he registered 7.5 points, 2.9 assists and 19.7 minutes. This course could enjoy greater relevance after Lowry’s departure although, a priori, Fred VanVleet and Goran Dragic will be ahead of him in the rotation.
