NFL power rankings 13.0: The Packers may be the best team in the NFC
SportsPulse: With all respect to the Ravens and Steelers we went ahead and released our post Week 12 power rankings. Mackenzie Salmon reveals the biggest risers and fallers from this week’s action.
After three postponements, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will finally square off on Wednesday.
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed Wednesday that the game, originally slated for Thanksgiving night, will be held as scheduled.
The Ravens had no new positive point-of-care tests for COVID-19 in Wednesday’s results, according to multiple reports. Prior to that, the team had at least one player test positive for COVID-19 for the past 10 days. On Tuesday, rookie safety Geno Stone and an equipment manager tested positive, ESPN reported.
Running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram are not expected to play, according to multiple reports, despite being eligible to return from the COVID-19 list. Both Dobbins and Ingram tested positive for COVID-19, coach John Harbaugh announced last Monday, and did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh on Tuesday as they completed their 10-day isolation window.
Gus Edwards will take over the lead role at running back with Justice Hill likely serving as a backup.
NFL ON WEDNESDAY?: Ravens-Steelers game provides a midweek rarity
Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is also out, leaving Robert Griffin III to start for the Ravens at quarterback. Jackson, Dobbins and Ingram have accounted for 1,187 of the Ravens’ 1,605 rushing yards this season.
Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will miss the game after being placed on the COVID-19 reserve list on Wednesday. It was not clear whether he had tested positive for COVID-19 or been labeled a high-risk close contact. Pouncey joins running back James Conner, defensive end Stephon Tuitt and offensive tackle Jerald Hawkins on the Steelers’ list.
The game will mark just the second time since 1949 that the NFL has played a contest on a Wednesday.
