The Spanish football club Real Madrid decided to dispense with the services of Croatian Niko Mihic, the club’s chief doctor, due to repeated injuries to players, the most recent of whom is Turkish Arda Guler.
The Spanish newspaper Marca reported on Sunday that Real Madrid is suffering from many injuries among its players, some of whom have repeated injuries in the current and last season.
She pointed out that the issue of the Turkish player Guler was one of the hot files that precipitated the departure of Mihic, who joined the Royal Club in 2017.
Hours after it was announced that Guler had recovered from his injury and returned to the field, it was announced – yesterday, Saturday – that the young player would be absent for another month due to a new injury for the fourth time in a row.
She explained that Mihic was very close to Florentino Perez, club president, and Croatian players, such as former team player Mateo Kovacic and current Merengue star Luka Modric.
Marca stated that “Mihic’s working methods initially raised some doubts among the players,” but in cooperation with Pintos, the team’s physical preparation officer, Real Madrid became one of the teams with the most physical fitness for its players.
Guler was not the only case that caused the Croatian doctor’s departure. Last year, many players suffered repeated injuries, such as Karim Benzema, David Alaba, and Dani Ceballos.
There are also many major injuries that have caused the Royal team to lose the efforts of its main goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.
